Except for local residents with genuine entry or exit needs, all other small cars are prohibited from entering during the control period to ensure road safety."

4. There have been recent sightings of hornets in the mountainous areas of Ruifang District. Visitors are advised to be vigilant and ensure their own personal safety.

 Operating Hours and Rules

  • Starting from Aug 29, 2023, the venue will implement an appointment-only admittance system for both weekdays and holidays (no on-site standby is allowed). Visitors must ensure they have completed the reservation process before visiting, and we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

  • On-Site Guided Tours: there will be guided tours available at two time slots, 9:00 AM and 2:00 PM, starting from the Mudan (Peony) Rest Area Service Station(0K+800). If you require a guided tour, please apply for one during the mentioned time slots and check the "Need Guided Tour" option.
  • Opening Hours: 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM (last entry is at 4:00 PM).
  • Free admission. Please do not purchase tickets from unknown or suspicious sources.
  • Closed every Monday. However, we remain open on consecutive holidays and national holidays. In case of other announced closures due to special circumstances or holidays, entry will not be allowed.

➡ Entrance #1: Mudan Street, Shuangxi District (Eco-Friendly Tunnel 0K+000)
➡ Entrance #2: Housan Road, Ruifang District (Eco-Friendly Tunnel 3K+192)

We recommend using public transportation or bicycles:
  • By Train: Take the train to Houtong Railway Station or Mudan Railway Station. Please note that there is no direct access from Sandiaoling Railway Station to the Eco-Friendly Tunnel, so please avoid using that station for entry or exit.
  • Shared Bicycles: There are YouBike 2.0 stations located near Mudan Railway Station in Shuangxi District, Houtong Railway Station in Ruifang District, and next to the Golden Bridge in Ruifang District. For bicycle rental locations and availability, please check the following Ubike Station Map link for more information:

 Important Notes before Entry
  • Along the route, QR codes are available to provide helpful information on key attractions and highlights. We recommend scanning them to find out more information.
  • Bicycles and pedestrians share the same path, so please be considerate of each other. For cyclists, it is recommended to have bike lights, wear reflective clothing, and keep to the right side of the path.
  • For those on foot, please avoid walking side by side and blocking the path, and to be mindful of bicycles coming and going. It is recommended that pedestrians wear reflective clothing, and the park also provides reflective vests for visitors to wear.
  • The pavement features a transparent design with gaps on surfaces, so be cautious with your personal belongings (e.g., phones, keys) to prevent them from falling below and causing loss or damage. Avoid wearing high heels or shoes that can easily get caught in the gaps. Additionally, trekking poles can also get stuck in the pavement gaps, so it is not recommended to use them within the premises.
  • There are elevated sections within the park, so parents should take care of accompanying children, avoid risky behavior and be cautious of the edges.
  • The mirror pool has been constructed through eco-friendly methods, maintaining a natural water surface. Please walk carefully and it is recommended to wear waterproof shoes. Additionally, when it doesn't rain, the water supply to the pools from nearby streams may be limited, affecting the mirroring effect. We thank you for your understanding.
  • If you encounter a queue at the mirror pool, please be patient and avoid occupying the area for too long, prioritizing the passage of others.
  • Bicycles are required to maintain a slow speed, with a maximum limit of 10 km/hr. Riding side by side is not permitted. Furthermore, cycling is strictly prohibited in the no-ride zone (Eco-Friendly Tunnel 2K+835 to 3K+192) and cyclists should always yield the right of way to pedestrians.
  • Inside the tunnel, occasional dripping water or bats flying by may occur. It is recommended that visitors wear hats or bicycle helmets for safety.
  • Please show respect for native wildlife and maintain quiet inside the tunnel by refraining from causing any disruptions. Cyclists are advised to avoid using their bells unnecessarily, as it may startle the local wildlife.
  • In case of an emergency, please do not panic. There are emergency intercoms available inside the tunnel (approximately 240 meters apart) for assistance. Alternatively, you can use your mobile phone to contact the Rest Area Service Station (02-24933782).
  • Visitors must strictly follow the guidance of on-site staff to ensure safety and jointly maintain the cleanliness of the environment and the proper use of facilities.
  • Visitors who violate relevant regulations and continue to do so after being advised will be asked to leave the premises and will be denied further access.
  • The total length of the tunnel is approximately 3.19 kilometers, with an elevated section at the Sandiaoling end. Visitors should carefully assess their physical fitness and acrophobia (fear of heights) before entering the premises.
  • The "Sanguazi Tunnel and Sandiaoling Old Tunnel" were declared historical sites in 2019 and are subject to relevant regulations under the Cultural Heritage Preservation Act. Any acts of damage or vandalism will be handled in accordance with the aforementioned regulations.
 Prohibited Activities:
  • Visitors are not allowed to enter restricted or closed-off areas.
  • Visitors must not damage the environment within the premises and no resources may be taken out without prior approval.
  • Motorized vehicles, including cars, motorcycles and electric vehicles (not including electrically power assisted cycles but electric scooters), are prohibited on controlled sections. Exceptions include mobility assistive devices for individuals with disabilities and their accompanying individuals, official vehicles and vehicles with official access permits.
  • Cyclists should have their headlights on. If not equipped with lights, for safety reasons, it is recommended to walk with the bicycle throughout the premises. Riding a bicycle (or scooter) is only allowed if equipped with lights.
  • Cycling with a passenger (except for tandem bikes) is prohibited.
  • Due to the porous pavement design with gaps, it is not allowed to enter wearing flip-flops or high heels.
  • Smoking, chewing betel nut or gum, carrying explosives or any items that may damage facilities are strictly prohibited throughout the entire area.
  • Inside the tunnel, please maintain a quiet voice as echoes are easily produced. The use of loudspeakers or amplification devices is strictly prohibited.
  • Do not use flashlights or torches to shine directly at animals.
  • Please do not litter (including fruit peels and any food or drinks) to preserve the natural state of the area. Additionally, the venue is subject to road traffic management regulations, so please act in accordance with proper conduct.
  • The formation of calcium carbonate crystals inside the tunnel is fragile; therefore, please do not touch them with your hands.
  • To maintain ecological balance and prevent harm to your pets, please do not bring pets into the premises.
  • For safety reasons, the use of drones is not allowed within the premises.
  • Please do not park bicycles in front of the Mirror Pool as the space is limited.
  • Any form commercial activity is prohibited within the premises unless approved by the competent authority.
